Sorry for the late post, but those of you on Facebook already know! Gracie went into this year's long course state championships with 2 goals - to swim fast enough to make it to finals at least once, and to drop time in her 50 free.
At the end of 2 full (and H-O-T) days and nights of prelims and finals, she not only made it to finals in her signature event - the 100 Breaststroke - but also eeked out a finals entry for the 200 Breaststroke as well! She finished her 100 Breast with a new personal best and A ranked state time. She stayed consistent and finished 6th in the state for both events. She also took 2 full seconds off of her 50 free.
They just announced her A time and finals entry for 100 BR.
Gray and Sarah Grace...
Gray and Mackenzie...
Last words of wisdom and strategery from Coach Corey...
And yes, Jackson was cold...it was 7:00 am. His 'cold' didn't last long, believe me.
Marching out for finals and announcing each swimmer.
Well done Gray! Proud of your hard work! - D
