It's Been a While

Yes, it has been a while. This always happens to me this time of year. Our schedule is getting more and more complicated with less down time, but life is F-U-N! Let's see, here is what has been happening...

1. Our 12U softball team is on a hot streak, with only 1 loss so far. Gracie is tearing up the pitcher's mound and staging a huge comeback from not pitching since she was 10. She has been working with a pitching coach this season and it is paying off, not to mention a LOT of driveway coaching and catching from yours truly. If she is not pitching in the driveway, she is giving her pink volleyball a work out in preparation for team camp in July.

2. Final 6th grade band concert was last week. The band was awesome. They played Accidentally in Love from Shrek, some dinosaur piece, Wipe Out, and one of my all time favorites from piano lesson days from the red book #3 - The Spinning Song!

3. Home swim meet today - a big YEEHA! Gracie posted her very first A time EVER in the 50 breast...37.92 seconds. The best times go like this...B, BB, A, AA, AAA, and AAAA. A BB time is a state time, so getting an A is HUGE for her!

4. Like the picture above of my little sous chef, learning to sautee mushrooms?!? Jack got his next size up violin last weekend and it is beautiful! He is so excited to hear its much richer and grown up sound. He will be playing it Monday morning at his school's Rise and Shine assembly talent show.

5. Jack also graduated from Tiger to Wolf on Thursday night! He and Pete will be camping out with the rest of the den over Memorial Day weekend.

6. I am busily getting our schedule lined out for the summer. We have Rose for the summer, so I will rely on her to execute my plans. :) Both kids will be going to Lutheran Camp, but since they are different age groups, they will go different weeks - Gracie the 3rd week in June, Jack the last week in June. Jack is also doing a six week swim camp, golf camp, and summer violin lessons. Gracie will be overloaded with swim every morning at 6:00 am (grrr), volleyball team camp, and math tutor.

The other picture above? That is what I walked into laying on the kitchen floor in front of my sink last weekend...two tired little boys...love it!...D

Great pics of Jack, etc. It sounds like your summer will be busy, if not hectic! Another congratulations to Gracie, the swimmer and pitcher. Geoff Smith was at the wedding reception we attended last night. He wants you to see him on Facebook--and said to tell you hello. Will we see you and Gracie on Friday? Love M and D, N and p
