$268.00 poorer...

So...somewhere between her extended vacation at the pound and her grooming session at PetSmart, Daisy has contracted Kennel Cough. She has the equivalent of bronchitis, on its way to pneumonia, if not treated. She has a 103 fever, sneezing, coughing, mucus, etc.

Pete brought her home from Dr. Tallent with 1 steroid shot, 1 antibiotic shot, oral antiobiotic, cough suppressant, and pill pockets - chicken flavored chewies to hide the pills in so she will take them. Oy vay...

Did anyone pick a focus word for 2011 yet? I will update with mine tomorrow...D

We will miss you!!

Jackson said it best last night, as I was tucking him in on the air mattress in our bedroom. He said, "Mom, I just don't feel right. You know when you have lots of fun for days and days and then it has to stop because your fun gets on an airplane?"

Yes, Jack, I know how you feel. Thanks for making this a great Christmas of fantastic memories, Nana and Papa Beach!

Safe travels...D

She's Baaaack...

Here is the run down...

1. Pete bought the kids rakes for an early Christmas gift (i know), and on the 22nd, they were out in the yard, cleaning up leaves.
2. Daisy escaped around 2:00.
3. The pound told us that someone from the Fieldstone subdivision brought her in around 4:30 that afternoon. the pound closed at 5:00 that evening, until yesterday morning.
4. Pete left the pound a voicemail on the morning of the 23rd, but no one could respond until yesterday morning's call.
5. Pete, Gray, and her friend Madison went to the pound yesterday morning at 10:00 to retrieve Daisy.
6. Pete got slapped with a city citation for a loose dog with no tags. He also had to pay a release fee, and go to the vet to get her checked out and provide proof of her rabies, etc.
7. Trip to PetSmart for new tags and collar.
8. Grooming appointment today, in case she picked up fleas for anything else from the pound.

Gracie is all a-glow with our Christmas miracle! Pete is pricing out a bury-in-the-ground perimeter shock fence...D

Merry Christmas Memories 2010

Christmas Eve service....our acolyte and cross bearer.
Our happy family of 4. I think we need more ornaments for next year...heehee

LOVE LOVE LOVE these two little cuties - both in new outfits.

the boys
A little hard to tell, but this was my present from Pete...mosquito repellant that keeps you free from bites in a 225 square foot radius. Note Gracie's expression...

This was one of the sweetest moments on Christmas eve. Jack shopped for Gracie himself (with me) and picked out a crystal necklace and earrings for his sissy. Gracie gave Jack a special copy of an essay she had to write for school about someone special in your life. She wrote about Jack and had me read it to him. I will try and post it later.

Me with my big prize...a Menard's Tshirt!!!!!! LOVE it, D and T

Jack in his new robe with his new buddy
A couple of happy faces at their new laptop station
Monogrammed swim towel from Nana and Papa Beach!

Hi Gray

Note the Cheese Balls that Jack scored from Santa!

Our precious Ashton and Cade are moving to Mobile, Alabama to start a new chapter in their lives. They stopped by our brunch restaurant in LR today to say goodbye, share Christmas hugs and kisses, and to tell us that THEY ARE PREGNANT!!! We love them!

Merry Christmas from the Karls!

Violin Recital December 2010

Jackson Frederick Karl rocked our socks off at his December recital this afternoon! He played 2 solos - Go Tell Aunt Rhody, and Amazing Grace. He was fabulous!
And the amazing Rose came and showed her support. Oh how we love our Roso!

Wait...is that Pete actually cracking somewhat of a smile in a family picture?!?!
Also...Gray did fabulous at her swim meet on Saturday. Highlight was dropping 10 seconds in her 100 IM! We won't go into detail on the unfortunate "fall in" from the starting block...love my Gray!
Windy and COLD here...D
