"Pause...we have a problem out there!"

So Pete is out of town. He left the sprinkler system on an automatic setting. But evidently there is a clog somewhere.

Ashley was shooting the attached video of the Gray and Jack Band singing Katy Perry's "California Gurlz." Incidently, Gray looks pretty comfortable with the guitar, and Jack?...he's pulling off a pretty good gangsta, complete with 'chain' and missing front tooth. OH, and let's not forget his best move...

So toward the end of the video, Jack happens to look out the front window and sees a six foot tall geyser of water shooting out of the front flower bed.

I laughed so hard when I saw this...I love Ashley for capturing this...D

My Lost Tooth, by Jackson Karl

I lost my front tooth at Pizza Inn and Daddy pulled it. It didn't hurt. And I am going to get money from the tooth fairy tonight! There is still some tissue hanging down, but Mr. David from church said it will go away on its own. That's all.
Bye...Jack

Father's Day in Ft. Smith

So...due to the weather in Chicago and a slight brown-out at O'Hare on Friday night, the three of us were resigned to the fact that we would be heading to Ft. Smith for the weekend without Daddy. We left at 4:00 am on Saturday morning. Gracie swam her morning events, we checked into the hotel, swam in the hotel pool, took a nap....meanwhile, Pete got a mercy flight to Memphis, drove a rental to Little Rock airport, picked up his truck, drove to Conway, packed a fresh bag, and showed up in Ft. Smith in time for dinner!
Happy Father's Day to the most dedicated daddy in the world! How cute are my two boys? And that left front tooth of Jack's is VERY loose...see the gap?

This is how I felt about getting my picture taken.

What a good sport, always getting hauled around to boring swim meets. Your time will come, Jackson, your time will come.

This chick had her best meet ever! She dropped 4+ seconds on 2 events, and made it to the finals in her 50 breast!

Jack needs to work on his camera skills.

Photo Op of the AquaKids finalists on Sunday afternoon. From left is Abby, Sydney, Gracie, Casey, Mackenzie. David and Jocelyn in the back, AJ and Ty up front.
Hope all of you dads had a great day yesterday....D

Ball Season is Winding Down...

...Not sure that I have mentioned this before, but Gray's softball team is STILL undefeated this season! We have 2 games left - one Friday night and one Monday night. This has been our golden season, as we have been building up to this since this group of girls was playing in the 6 and Under league. Fingers crossed that we finish just as strong as we have played all season!

Jack's regular season is over and he has an end of season tournament game on Friday night.

Heading to Ft. Smith this weekend for swim meet!!!...DK

Playing Catch-up

It's been a while since I uploaded some pictures, so I hope you enjoy this display. This is Gracie doing a self-timer in her room - glad school is over!!!!
Ashley is back with us for a second summer!
Displaying those awesome 4th quarter report cards! Here we come, 1st and 6th grades!

The AquaGirlz at the BGMI Invitational in Fayetteville, AR. Maddie, SarahGrace, Gray, Karis, Hanna, and Brianna.

My little rock star stretching and visualizing.
Jack and Lydia, staying entertained.

This picture is hilarious! This was our view of Jack's little orchestra at the final concert for his strings camp yesterday morning. He is second from the left, his head blocked by his stand. He was in the Grey Orchestra, and they played 3 songs - Arkansas Traveller, Frere Jacques, and Lightly Row.
Maddie and SarahGrace came to see his concert. Proud of you, Jack!
Another busy week ahead - more softball and baseball, swimming lessons for Jack at Hendrix, and Pete is travelling Thursday and Friday to Chicago and Wisconsin. Oh, and Gracie has her drylands swimming training three mornings this week at 6:30 am!
Happy Birthday to Brie!!!...D

Week 1 of Summer Vacay

Gray had a super swim meet last weekend in Fayetteville. Saturday she posted 3 best times and swam the 200 free for the first time. Sunday was a different story...right after the warmup, she was coming up to the second deck to see us...she was hoping to go thru the large heavy airtight steel door, and a man was coming out. Her little foot got stuck under the door! She had a five inch, purple line of a bruise across her entire spread of toes, and red gouges. It was awful! She cried so hard! We seriously thought something was broken. For about 20 minutes she resigned herself to crying in a heap and quitting. Her first race was coming up, and Daddy stepped in. He took her for a walk and gave her the big pep talk. I have no idea what was said, but she rallied and swam all of her events....not her best swims, but she did it. And her foot is STILL swollen and purple lined today.

This week was the beginning of dry lands 3 mornings a week - workouts on the track at 6:30 am. Then softball camp from 9-12. Jack is at strings camp this week with a final concert on Saturday morning.

Special thanks to Nana and Papa Beach for the ice cream money - half was already used last night!

No travel for Pete this week...D

Breaking News...

*do not read this if you don't want to see a proud momma braggin'*

...we just returned from the 5th grade awards assembly. Our very own Grace Renee Karl won an award for keeping an A average for the entire school year!! This is definitely a tremendous milestone for her that was achieved with a lot of hard work. We are SO VERY proud of you, Gray!

...and...our very own Jackson Frederick Karl brought home a nearly perfect report card, except for 1 tardy (must have been Pete's dropoff day...heehee). He received Above Grade Level marks in all of his core subjects, and got straight Excellents in all of his arts and specials.

Blessed...D

Random Thoughts...

1. Phase 1 of Operation Tween Lounge is complete - we now have a brown leather sectional sofa in the 4th bedroom, perfect for movie watching.
2. Wolverines lost last night, 11-1. Jack was not successful at the plate, but stopped 2 grounders and had 2 sweet throws in the field.
3. The entire 5th grade class is at Wild River Country today (water park). Oh to be a fly. Sermons included reapplying sunscreen, make good choices on who to hang out with, and you better come home with some change from the $40.00 Pete sent you.
4. I am sunburned.
5. Gracie wants to be a cop.
6. Pete has a Yorkie for sale.
7. Last day of school is FRIDAY!

Love to all...D
